Survey sites have become one of the most popular ways to make extra spending money in your spare time. There are dozens and dozens of different survey websites that you can join.

Each of them is going to have different advantages and drawbacks that you should be aware of. Because there are so many different options, you could waste hours trying to find the best one.

When you’re trying to decide which survey site to join, it’s important that you don’t fall into a scam, and I’ll be the first to tell you, there are thousands and thousands of websites with the only goal of stealing your information or scamming you out of money.

I don’t want you to fall victim to one of these scams, so I’ve done the research and reviewed some of the most popular options for survey sites, and one of those is ProOpinion.

ProOpinion was a market research company that specialized in online surveys and focus groups. It was founded in 2000 and operated for several years, providing a platform for businesses to gather insights from consumers and professionals.

However, ProOpinion ceased operations in 2018, and its website is no longer active. The company was acquired by Schlesinger Group, a global market research firm, and its assets were integrated into Schlesinger’s operations.

ProOpinion is very different from a lot of the survey programs that are on the Internet. They do much more than just connect businesses with people willing to fill out surveys.

They are designed to help business professionals by providing a variety of different resources, and of course, they pay for you to complete surveys.

According to their Who Are We? page, they provide, “the opportunity to learn from highly respected and influential leaders within the business landscape along with a platform to earn by sharing your business insights.”

If you become a member of ProOpinion, you’ll be getting more than just the ability to participate in their survey program, you will get articles from experts and insights into ways to improve your business, but that doesn’t mean that they are one of the best options if you’re looking to make money on the surveys.

ProOPinion Requirements

ProOpinion tends to revolve around the professional business world, and they claim that that’s what their surveys involve, but in reality, their surveys will cover just about any topic. They have a verity of different kinds of surveys, and all of them are going to be different lengths.

Before you sign up, there are two simple requirements that you have to meet to be eligible for the program. You must be at least 18 years old, and you must be a resident of the United States.

Currently, ProOpinion does not work with any companies out of the U.S., which means that they have no need for members outside of the states.

The idea of ProOpinion is simple, and it works just like every other survey site on the market. You can sign up for the program in a matter of minutes. They will need your basic information, just like any other website, but you’ll also have to provide a little personal information as well.

They are going to ask questions about your salary, your education level, your employment status, and several other basic questions. All of these questions are going to determine which surveys that you’re eligible for.

When a company partners with ProOpinion to distribute surveys, they want to ensure that the surveys are only going to their target audience. All of the personal questions are going to determine how many surveys that you receive, but that doesn’t mean that you should try lying on these questions.

After you’ve created your account, then all you have to do is wait around for an invite. Every time that you qualify for a survey, Pro Opinion will send you an email, or you can log onto your account and go to the “take survey” section, and all of the available options will be displayed there.

How ProOPinion Surveys Work

The number of invites that you could vary drastically, it could be anywhere from 2-4 a week to 2-4 a month. Some months you might get more than others, it all depends on the number of companies that are partnering with ProOpinion and how many of the target demographics that you fall into.

Some could be much shorter, while others could take you twice that amount of time. They are going to be anywhere from 75 – 450 points. Obviously, the longer the survey is, the more that you’re going to get for completing it.

Cashing Out With ProOpinion

With ProOpinion, there are several ways that you can get paid for your work. Every point that you earn is worth one cent, which means that every 100 points are going to translate into $1. You have to accumulate at least 1,000 points before you can get access to your money.

One of the easiest ways to get your money is to have the money deposited into a verified PayPal account that you sync with your ProOpinion account. PayPal is not the only way that you can use your points.

You can also use your points to buy Amazon gift cards, iTunes gift cards, or some of the dozens of other store vouchers that they have available. In addition to the gift cards, you can also donate your points to charity.

ProOpinion has partnered with the American Red Cross, and they allow you to use your points to give back to the community. This is an excellent way to support a charity, just by answering a couple of surveys.

There will always be people who have high standards or who have had a bad experience; the only ones you should pay attention to are the opinions shared by dozens of people. 

One of the common complaints with ProOpinion (this is a problem with just about every single survey site) is that some users get timed out of their survey halfway through.

Users say they will be taking the survey with no problems, then all of a sudden they will be kicked out and be told that they don’t qualify for the survey.

Another common complaint is the low pay for the surveys, something that you’re going to find with most survey sites. Everyone wants more money, but with ProOpinion, it’s a little more warranted. ProOpinion doesn’t have the highest payout available.

Additionally, depending on the number of surveys that you get, you could only make a couple of bucks every month. While you can’t control the number of surveys that you get, you can find a website that will be able to provide you with more opportunities.

Bottom Line

Let’s be honest, everyone is looking to make some extra money, but nobody wants to go out and get a second job. Thanks to the Internet, there are dozens and dozens of ways that you can make some extra dough without having to leave the comfort of your couch.

If you want to make some spending money by clicking around on your mouse, survey sites are an incredible way to do that. Sure, you won’t be able to quit your full-time job, but it’s an excellent way to pocket some extra bills every month.

ProOpinion is only one of the possible options that you can choose from. If you don’t like it, it’s free to join, which means that you didn’t lose anything by giving it a shot.
